Pius Odubu, the former deputy governor and chairman of the transition committee, emphasized that access to essential documents is crucial for the new government to operate effectively from the outset. He stated that any concealed information would eventually be uncovered.
Odubu remarked, “The election is over, and we are now prepared to govern. We have capable individuals ready to work, and it’s vital that you provide us with all available information. Attempting to hide anything is unwise, as there are many ways to obtain information. The best approach is to share everything with us during this briefing session, enabling the incoming government to be well-prepared to hit the ground running.”
He underscored the time-sensitive nature of the transition, calling for cooperation to gather necessary information promptly. “We need to review these documents and brief the governor-elect on the current state of affairs so he can be fully informed upon taking office,” he added.
Odubu requested both hard and digital copies of relevant materials, stressing the importance of collaboration to meet the transition timeline. He noted, “You’ve indicated that the documents will be ready early next week. Once we receive them, we will reach out if further information is required.
