Ologbondiyan disclosed that former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former NNPP presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso have held multiple consultative meetings to explore the possibility of uniting against the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Atiku, while dismissing rumors of leaving the PDP, previously stated he was working to unite all opposition forces to challenge the APC in the 2027 elections. Meanwhile, El-Rufai, a key figure in securing votes for President Bola Tinubu in the North West, officially defected from the APC on Monday.
During an appearance on AIT Focus, Ologbondiyan expressed confidence that the opposition’s collaboration would bring hope to Nigerians, claiming the current government could be easily defeated with their combined efforts.
Ologbondiyan said, “What is coming is significant. I’ll leave it at that. The most important thing is the opposition’s willingness to come together. If the picture I’m seeing is correct, I can assure Nigerians that there’s hope ahead.
“I’ve seen opposition successfully win elections before. Look at the Jonathan presidency’s removal by opposition. It wasn’t impossible then, and I don’t believe it’s impossible now.”
