Olubadan’s Seal Of Approval: Gov Adeleke Gets Endorsement For Second Term

The newly appointed 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland designate, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, has officially endorsed Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for a second term in office.

This was confirmed in a statement released to Naija News on Tuesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

Oba Ladoja, a former Senator and ex-Governor of Oyo State, expressed his support while receiving Governor Adeleke during a congratulatory visit to his Ibadan residence ahead of his coronation, scheduled for September 26, 2025.

During the visit, the Olubadan drew comparisons between his own political journey and that of Governor Adeleke, noting that both have held positions as Senators and Governors, with Adeleke now also bearing the distinguished title of Asiwaju of Edeland.

“Every day we hear of your outstanding work in Osun State, and we are proud of the progress you are bringing to your people. Your developmental achievements should extend beyond 2026 because nothing can halt the good work you are doing. I will personally attend your second-term swearing-in as Olubadan of Ibadan, because one successful term deserves another,” Oba Ladoja stated.

He further praised Adeleke’s leadership, saying: “Your performance as Governor brings me joy. Osun is a challenging state to govern, yet you have changed the narrative. You are accomplishing many wonderful things, and the people of Osun are happy with your administration. My prayer is that you will lead Osun to even greater heights, overcome all obstacles, and continue to shine as a leader. May God uphold and protect you.”

Reflecting on the Adeleke family’s legacy of public service, the monarch added: “You come from a family of remarkable individuals. Your father, Senator Adeleke, and your brother, my Serubawon, have served with distinction. Thank you for keeping the family legacy alive.”

In response, Governor Adeleke congratulated Oba Ladoja on his ascension, describing it as well-deserved and historic. He promised to honor the monarch with a befitting celebration during his coronation.

“Kabiyesi, I deeply appreciate your guidance and wisdom. Your leadership legacy continues to inspire me in Osun State. I pray for long life, peace, joy, and divine blessings on the throne of your forefathers,” Adeleke said.

Governor Adeleke was accompanied on the visit by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; Yeyelua Modupeola Sanni-Adeleke; and several Commissioners, including Otunba Tola Faseru, Hon. Olatunji Ayofe, and Hon. Biyi Odunlade.
