“Only The People Of FCT Can Decide Who Becomes Senator In 2023, Not Wike” – Deji Adeyanju Claims, Reveals FCT Is Not Like Rivers Where Results Are Written During a speech in Abuja on Monday at the Mabushi bus terminal construction flag-off ceremony, Wike asserted his intention to unseat the FCT Senator, emphasizing his administration’s accomplishments under President Tinubu’s leadership.

“If we have done well, we have done well. If we haven’t done well, we haven’t done well. I am proud to say that in the short time that President Tinubu has appointed us, we have done well,” Wike stated.

Addressing perceived shortcomings in education and healthcare, he questioned the legislative actions of incumbent legislators, challenging their contributions in these sectors.

In response, Deji Adeyanju criticized Wike’s remarks, stating on his X handle: “Only the people of FCT can decide who becomes Senator in 2023, not Wike. The arrogance of power is what makes Wike believe he can dictate. FCT operates differently from Rivers, where results are manipulated and coercion prevails. Even sitting presidents can be defeated in FCT.”

It is noteworthy that Kingibe of the Labour Party (LP) defeated Philip Aduda of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections. Aduda, an ally of Wike, served as senator from 2011 to 2023. Tensions between Kingibe and Wike have persisted since their assumption of office, reflecting strained relations.
