Oshiomhole’s Leadership: A Big Canopy For APC As He Defends Campaign Strategy On Channels TV(video)....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Yesterday, the former Governor of Edo State, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, appeared on Channels TV with Seun Okinbaloye, where he addressed issues surrounding the just-concluded Edo State election. During the interview, Oshiomhole tackled claims from the opposition that he overshadowed APC gubernatorial candidate, Monday Okpebholo, throughout the campaign.
According to critics, Oshiomhole allegedly dominated the stage, preventing Okpebholo from engaging with the electorate directly, especially through television interviews.
However, Oshiomhole wasted no time clarifying these wrong assumptions. He emphasized that at no point was Monday Okpebholo barred from media engagements. Rather, Oshiomhole reiterated that Okpebholo was fully equipped and encouraged to communicate with the people.
The former governor even took the opportunity to educate Seun Okinbaloye on the ethical standards of journalism, stressing that spreading such false narratives without evidence could mislead the public.
Throughout the Edo campaign, Oshiomhole’s leadership was evident. He effectively used his vast political experience and popularity to spotlight the failures of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Oshiomhole’s speeches resonated with the masses as he outlined Obaseki’s mismanagement in areas such as governance, his conflicts with the political class, the alienation of traditional institutions, and the lack of progress on his highly publicized MoUs. His deep connection with the grassroots allowed him to convey the APC’s message with clarity and power.
In the interview, Oshiomhole also made a significant point about the effectiveness of grassroots campaigning. He stressed the importance of radio as a medium in reaching the local communities, asserting that it had a greater impact than television in rural areas.
This strategic move helped the APC communicate its vision directly to the people at the grassroots level, countering any misinformation spread by the opposition.
Ultimately, Oshiomhole highlighted that Edo needs a compassionate, resourceful, and pragmatic leader—someone like Monday Okpebholo—who can deliver real progress for the state.
This stands in contrast to the fake promises, inflated MoUs, and lack of tangible plans from the PDP. Oshiomhole’s leadership during the campaign was a masterstroke, and his defense of the APC’s strategy on national television only solidified his role as a critical pillar in the party’s success in Edo State.
