The Nigerian forward, who has long admired Drogba as his childhood idol, revealed how closely he studied the former star’s style and mindset growing up.

Following Galatasaray’s commanding 3-0 Champions League win over Ajax on Wednesday, Osimhen once again credited Drogba for shaping his football journey.

“I have to be grateful to Didier Drogba because much of what I am today, I owe in part to him,” Osimhen told UEFA’s official website.
“He’s the player I always watched to learn the way he plays, trying to incorporate some of the qualities that made him one of the most feared strikers of his time.”

At 26, Osimhen is frequently compared to Drogba for his strength, intelligent movement, and relentless goal-scoring hunger. Like the Chelsea legend, he blends physical presence with sharp positioning and a fierce determination to find the net.

Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has quickly become a key figure for the Turkish side. His brace against Ajax made him the first player in the club’s history to score in eight consecutive European games, according to Naija News.
