The Turkish champions paid the final instalment of €17.5 million, concluding a structured payment arrangement agreed upon when Osimhen’s permanent transfer was finalised in July 2025.
Under the terms of the deal, Galatasaray initially paid €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million split into two equal instalments of €17.5 million each. The final payment was originally scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
According to Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük, the early settlement of the transfer fee strengthens Galatasaray’s financial standing ahead of the upcoming transfer window, as the club is now free of outstanding liabilities related to the striker’s acquisition.
Osimhen’s transfer remains the most expensive signing in Turkish football history, surpassing Fenerbahçe’s €20 million purchase of Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla.
The agreement with Napoli also includes a clause entitling the Italian club to 10 percent of any future profit from a subsequent sale of the player. In addition, Galatasaray are restricted from selling Osimhen to another Serie A club before 2027, unless a significant penalty is paid.
Reports indicate that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis inserted a strict condition requiring Galatasaray to pay double the original transfer fee if Osimhen is sold to a Serie A rival before the agreed period.
Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli deteriorated after the 2022/23 season, despite his key role in ending the club’s 33-year wait for a Serie A title. He finished that campaign as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals.
Although he later signed a contract extension in December 2023 that made him the club’s highest earner, tensions escalated during the following season. Napoli’s decision to reject a reported €170 million bid from Al Ahli further strained relations.
The Nigerian striker eventually joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024/25 season, where he impressed with 37 goals and eight assists across all competitions, delivering the most prolific season in the club’s recent history.
His performances convinced Galatasaray to pursue a permanent transfer, which was completed after extended negotiations over payment structure and financial guarantees in July 2025.
Osimhen subsequently signed a four-year contract reportedly worth €15 million net per season, excluding bonuses and image rights.
In his first full season as a permanent Galatasaray player, the 27-year-old scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances, helping the club secure a fourth consecutive Süper Lig title and reach the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
Despite the completion of his transfer payment, speculation over Osimhen’s future continues, with reports linking him to top European clubs including Real Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich.
