Speaking at the 2024 Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference, Osinbajo emphasized the need for targeted social welfare programs, accessible healthcare, and policies to address the surging costs of essential items such as food, transportation, and housing.

“The cost of living is overwhelming Nigerians’ ability to survive,” he said. “Children are suffering from the effects of rising food prices, and this crisis must be addressed.”

Osinbajo also highlighted the urgent need for stronger social safety nets to meet the basic needs of the population, stressing that a failure to act could have long-lasting impacts. He also raised concerns about Nigeria’s literacy challenges, especially in the northern region, where over 67% of women are illiterate, which he described as a significant obstacle to national development.

He further stressed the importance of investing in education and providing economic opportunities for women, stating that empowering women and addressing illiteracy would be key to creating a more prosperous and equitable Nigeria.
