The governor has also instructed that the state’s financial resources should now be primarily allocated to the execution of essential projects across various sectors.
This decision was disclosed in an official statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, and distributed in Osogbo.
While declaring the suspension on foreign trips, Governor Adeleke indicated that exceptions could be granted in cases of direct emergencies, with authorization from him.
The statement explains that this resolution was reached at the conclusion of the State Executive Council meeting convened on Monday.
“Foreign travels for high-ranking officials for the remainder of the year are hereby halted, unless there is a direct emergency situation that receives approval from the Governor.
“The Governor has directed the immediate suspension of foreign trips by high-ranking officials and encouraged the use of virtual meetings for participation in international business and investment events.
“We must maintain the pace of our service delivery by reducing excessive expenditures on recurring and administrative costs,” the statement reads.
