“Osun Is Tinubu’s Home, Don’t Turn It Into a War Zone – Gov Adeleke Warns Security Agencies”

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on security agencies to remain impartial amid the state’s evolving political climate.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor stressed that Osun—being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu—must not be turned into a political battleground.

Governor Adeleke made the appeal during the decoration ceremony of his Aide-De-Camp (ADC), DSP Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, at the Government House, Osogbo.

The event was attended by the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo, the FRSC Sector Commander, Leye Adegboyega, and other service chiefs.

Adeleke praised the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism, commending both the Inspector-General of Police and the Osun State Command for their discipline and adherence to due process. He particularly lauded CP Gotan for his leadership, which he said has helped sustain peace and order across the state.

Acknowledging the cooperation among security agencies in Osun, the governor urged them to remain neutral in political matters, warning against compromising law enforcement with partisanship.

“We must maintain a level playing field. This is the home state of Mr. President, who belongs to all of us. Osun should not be turned into a battleground,” he emphasized.

On his ADC’s promotion, Adeleke expressed delight, describing DSP Abdulraman as a disciplined and loyal officer who represents the values of the Nigeria Police.

“I am happy today over the promotion of my ADC. He is a good representative of the police,” the governor noted, adding that the Force remains a crucial institution for Nigeria’s growth and stability.

He also highlighted the sacrifices of security personnel nationwide, calling the Nigeria Police a “blessed organisation” deserving of appreciation from both government and citizens.

In his goodwill message, CP Ibrahim Gotan congratulated DSP Abdulraman, reminding him that promotion comes with added responsibilities. He urged him to remain dedicated to professionalism, discipline, and the highest ideals of policing.

Gotan further assured the governor that the Osun Command will continue to uphold fairness, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law, while maintaining peace and order in the state.
