In one video, a PDP leader named Chief Ade criticized the state executive and “superior leaders” for attempting to impose candidates, specifically accusing Governor Ademola Adeleke of trying to influence the process. Chief Ade warned against interference from Yeye Dupe, Adeleke’s sister, stating, “She is not the governor and has no authority to dictate or impose candidates. If she continues, it could jeopardize Ademola Adeleke’s future electoral prospects.”
Another video featured Falilate Arike Yusuf, known as “Ero-Arike,” from Iragbiji Local Government Area. Yusuf expressed her disappointment and betrayal after the party failed to honor their commitment to award her husband the chairmanship ticket, despite her efforts and financial contributions. “I worked tirelessly for the party, only to be let down when they didn’t grant my husband the ticket,” Yusuf lamented.
Additionally, Olalekan Olawole, the party’s ex-officio for Ife East council, posted a video from the Moore Divisional Police Headquarters, alleging an assassination attempt by political thugs allegedly hired by a party leader. Olawole, who is running for the Ife East Local Government chairmanship, claimed the attack was politically motivated.
In response, Osun PDP’s Director of Media and Publicity, Oladele Bamiji, acknowledged the issues but dismissed them as routine. Bamiji suggested that the concerns were exaggerated to pressure the party into compliance with personal agendas.
