Osun PDP Taunts APC After Court Loss, Calls For Strategic Rethink
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC), urging them to adopt a more organized approach to their political activities following a recent court defeat.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi, and shared with Naija News, the party described the APC’s actions as baseless and reflective of disarray within the opposition.
The criticism was triggered by a case filed by the APC at the Federal High Court in Osogbo, seeking to halt the upcoming local government elections. The court dismissed the case on Monday, a decision the PDP says highlights the APC’s lack of direction.
Bisi strongly criticized the APC, calling for a reassessment of their governance and opposition strategies. He suggested the party “return to the drawing board, if one exists, to bring some semblance of order to their operations.”
He stated, “It is laughable, unthinkable, and absurd for the APC to request the court to revisit a case that has already been resolved and appealed by the same APC, with a judgment pending. This appeal, in our view, is nothing more than a futile academic exercise, as the same Appeal Court recently dismissed a similar suit with identical prayers.”
Bisi continued, “It defies logic that a rejected political party would ask the court to reinstate its dismissed ‘Yes or No’ local government puppets while simultaneously demanding the stoppage of allocations to those same local governments.”
He further criticized the APC for inconsistency, pointing out that the party initially participated in the local government election process, held press conferences to express their readiness, and even nominated candidates, only to later attempt to halt the elections.
According to Bisi, “The APC seems motivated solely by the prospect of controlling local government allocations, as they have done in the past, with no genuine plan for the state or its people.”
