In a statement signed by the Command Spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Mohammed Umar Abba, it was revealed that the warning was prompted by a troubling escalation in the fraudsters’ activities. Opalola highlighted that Yahoo Boys have now incorporated ritualistic practices into their schemes, devising plans to lure and murder unsuspecting victims, especially women, to harvest their body parts for rituals.

“The Osun State Police Command is alerting the public, particularly young women, to the dangerous activities of internet fraudsters, or ‘Yahoo Boys’,” the statement read. “This advisory is crucial as we have observed disturbing new tactics used by these fraudsters, including ritualistic practices aimed at luring and killing victims for ritual purposes.”

The statement further urged the public to provide any relevant information to assist the police. Opalola assured that Commissioner Umar Abba is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the state and that the Police Command is actively working to apprehend and prosecute those involved in these criminal activities.
