Osun State Authorities Apprehend Four Suspects Involved In Fatal Money Ritual....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Osun State Police Command has apprehended four individuals suspected of conspiring to commit murder for a money ritual in Ibadan, Oyo State.

SP Yemisi Opalola, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed this during the presentation of the suspects in Osogbo on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Opalola explained that the arrest came after the son of the victim reported her disappearance to the Apomu Police Division in Osun. According to the report, the victim, Aminat Usman, aged 45, left home on March 13 to visit Onifade Oyekanmi in Iyana Ajia, Ibadan, but failed to return.

Her son suspected foul play, particularly implicating Oyekanmi, an herbalist, in her disappearance. Consequently, Oyekanmi was apprehended, and the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Osogbo, for thorough investigation.

Opalola stated that Oyekanmi’s confession led to the arrest of three other suspects. Each confessed to their involvement in the crime, admitting to plotting to use the victim for money-making rituals.

During searches at the suspects’ residences, authorities discovered three bottles containing a black substance suspected to be burnt human parts, along with two cutlasses, a large black clay pot, and black soaps. Additionally, a female neighbor of one of the suspects, who assisted in concealing some of the incriminating evidence, was also detained. However, she was granted administrative bail due to her nursing a four-month-old baby.

The suspects confessed to strangling the victim at Oyekanmi’s residence and dismembering her body. They mixed her intestines with those of animals and various herbs in a black clay pot, burning everything to powder, which they then divided among themselves. Oyekanmi admitted to destroying the victim’s cell phones after the murder to avoid detection.
