Otti Removes CPS, Greenlights Abia Students’ Fees For Indian Schools

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, announced the removal of his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, during a recent State Executive Council Meeting. He also approved significant measures benefiting students and the academic sector in the state. Otti authorized the payment of school fees for Abia students studying in India, addressing a neglect issue from the previous administration. Additionally, he sanctioned the payment of school fees for 271 students enrolled in Nigeria Law Schools.

Speaking after the meeting, State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, highlighted Otti’s commitment to education, emphasizing that these actions aim to support students in continuing their studies. Furthermore, Otti secured accreditation for 19 programs at Abia State University Uturu (ABSU) and expedited the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for Frank Onyeka, an Abian international footballer planning to establish a football academy in the state.

Regarding recent developments, Otti has appointed Njoku Ukoha Njoku as the new Chief Press Secretary, succeeding Kazie Uko. Addressing health concerns, Commissioner Kanu clarified that there is no cholera outbreak in Abia State, confirming that even suspected cases tested negative upon evaluation by the NCDC in Abuja.
