The CDS emphasized that harming innocent Nigerians under any circumstance is unacceptable, reminding officers and men that protecting Nigeria and its sovereignty is the constitutional duty of the armed forces.
He stated that there will be no leniency or shielding for any officer found guilty of such actions.
This warning came on Friday during his official visit to the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna State.
During the visit, the military chief inaugurated several projects aimed at enhancing the welfare and training of cadets.
“We must remember that the Armed Forces of Nigeria exist for the protection of Nigeria and its citizens. Our role is to defend and safeguard the nation’s sovereignty, not to harm innocent people,” General Musa said.
The CDS further cautioned officers and men against deserting their duties or pursuing personal interests while performing their national responsibilities.
He stressed the significant challenges ahead in national defence and warfare, urging them to prepare for any situation in the line of duty.
Additionally, he emphasized that officers may be posted to difficult and challenging terrains, encouraging them to give their utmost commitment.
Major General John Ochai, Commandant of the NDA, highlighted the importance of utilizing information technology to combat terrorism, banditry, and other emerging security threats.
Following the visit, the CDS, along with the NDA Commandant and senior military officials, commissioned various completed projects, including the NDA emergency and trauma centre and the operational basic military training complex.
