Oyedepo Declares: No Personal Income Drawn From Covenant UniversityChancellor of Covenant University, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed that he has never received a salary from the institution since its founding in 2001. Oyedepo stated that he views the personal growth and achievements of the students as his true reward.

During the university’s 19th convocation ceremony, where degrees and honors were awarded, Oyedepo highlighted the success of 1,607 graduates, including 339 with first-class honors, 762 with second-class upper, 330 with second-class lower, 25 with third-class, and 151 postgraduates. He expressed pride in the accomplishments of Covenant University alumni, particularly in industries like aviation, fashion, banking, and technology.

“I say this before God: I have not earned any wages from Covenant University since its inception. Your stories of success and breakthroughs in various fields are my true earnings,” Oyedepo remarked.

He further emphasized that his mission in life has always been about making meaningful contributions to society, rather than personal financial gain. He urged the students to focus on making a positive impact in the world, saying, “You are created to be a contributor. When you contribute, you cannot fail. You will be part of the solution, not the problem.”

Oyedepo also shared his vision for a brighter future, particularly for Nigeria. “We will witness a brand-new Nigeria. Don’t take shortcuts. Your success lies where you belong. Stay committed to God’s plan for your life,” he encouraged.

He added that Covenant University’s mission has always been to offer a high-quality education that empowers students to live impactful and fulfilling lives.
