Oyedepo Speaks: Why I Won’t Step Into Politics
The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, has affirmed that no sum of money, not even $1 billion, could lure him into partisan politics, declaring it entirely outside his divine calling.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He made this statement on Saturday during the impartation service of the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, held at the Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State. Speaking to thousands of worshippers, Oyedepo urged believers to remain faithful to their God-given assignments, emphasizing that true dominion and success are found within one’s divinely ordained purpose.
According to him, venturing into areas not ordained by God only leads to distraction and failure. He recalled, “In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come? Partisan politics is off my calling. Even if you offer me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it is not my course.”
The revered cleric also highlighted the urgency of the current times, noting that the world is in dire need of divine intervention. Quoting Romans 8:19, he said humanity is longing for believers who are fully aligned with God’s purpose.
“The world is groaning in darkness, but as the Scripture says, it is waiting for the earnest manifestations of the children of God. The army of God is rising to offer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. It is a day of unprecedented revelation, unseen and unheard before,” Oyedepo stated.
His message formed part of a broader exhortation urging church members to stay steadfast in their divine calling, resist worldly distractions, and positively influence their communities and nations, following the examples of biblical figures such as Joseph and Daniel.
