The nationwide protest, dubbed #EndBadGovernance, began peacefully on August 1 but quickly escalated in some states as miscreants hijacked the demonstrations, leading to property destruction and looting.

Pastor David Sarki of the Katsina church told Punch on Sunday that the attack halted church services. He explained that on the morning of the protest, hoodlums arrived in tricycles, broke into the church, and stole various items, including a digital clock, musical instruments, a pulpit, chairs, a desktop computer, and a scoreboard. The church was left in disarray.

Sarki noted that the attackers targeted three churches: Living Faith, Deeper Life, and an Anglican Church. They successfully invaded Living Faith and Deeper Life but were unable to access the Anglican Church due to strong security. The police have been notified and have made some arrests.

Sarki expressed disbelief at the attack, criticizing the escalation of protests to the invasion of places of worship. He urged for repentance from the perpetrators and called for governmental and societal reflection on the true purpose of places of worship and leadership.
