The claim was reportedly made by former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, who alleged on social media that there was an attempt by the Oyo State government to dethrone the traditional ruler.

He further suggested that the alleged plan involved issuing a query over the monarch’s absence at a recent traditional event, among other issues.

In response, the media aide to the Olubadan, Adeola Oloko, dismissed the allegation as unfounded, insisting that there is no dispute between the governor and the traditional institution.

He said there was no evidence of any tension or move to remove the monarch, describing the reports as baseless.

“It will be most unfortunate if it is not a rumour. Though I read it just the way you read it online. I don’t see the cause of friction between the governor and Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he stated.
