Kuti posted a video on his Instagram page on the evening of Sunday, May 5, 2025, capturing the aftermath of the incident. According to the singer, the bullet unexpectedly pierced through the window of his hotel room, causing panic and disbelief.

In the video, Kuti remarked,

“I read somewhere that these are the civilized people.
Tell me you’re in America without telling me you’re in America. I was just chilling in my hotel room, and boom—this happened.”

Meanwhile, Seun Kuti also took to Instagram to criticize Nigerian celebrities and feminists for their silence over the sexual harassment allegations made by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central.

He expressed disappointment that many women, who vocally supported Annie Idibia during her public fallout with 2Face, have remained silent in this case.

Kuti added,

“Regarding the sexual harassment allegations in the Senate, I stand fully with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
She’s not even the first to make such an accusation against the Senate President.
It’s shocking how all these so-called women activists have gone completely quiet.”

He further criticized the media and public for focusing on other celebrity scandals—like those involving Burna Boy and Sophia Egbueje—while ignoring more serious issues like this.
