Tragedy unfolded at BrickHall Schools in Abuja’s Cadastral Zone B11, Kaura, on Wednesday when four-year-old student Miguel Ovoke passed away during the school’s mealtime.

As per a death certificate from Excel Specialist Hospital, Abuja, dated April 24, 2024, which our correspondent obtained, Ovoke was rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state by his teachers around 11 am.

The medical document, signed by Dr. Akinwande Ajayi on behalf of the medical director, stated that the boy was admitted due to “aspiration on meat while feeding at school.”

Upon examination, the medical team noted fixed and dilated pupils, unrecordable blood pressure, impalpable peripheral pulses, and no cardiopulmonary or respiratory activity.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, the medical team declared him “Brought in Dead.”

Concerned about possible foul play, the deceased’s parents have enlisted the services of lawyer Deji Adeyanju to pursue the case. Adeyanju confirmed this development on Thursday.

Efforts to obtain a response from the school authorities have been unsuccessful so far, with no reply to emails sent to the known address.
