In December 2024, several images surfaced online showing the RCCG pastor dressed in Islamic attire, leading to speculation that he was Muslim. One particular image shared by an X user, @Sarkideyforyou, showed Adeboye standing in front of the Kaabah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia—a sacred site for Muslims. The post, which included the caption, “Pastor Adeboye may Allah guide you to the right path,” went viral, amassing over 3.8 million views, 1,500 reposts, 1,800 comments, and 4,000 likes by December 22, 2024.

During the first Holy Ghost Night of the new year on Saturday, January 4, Adeboye acknowledged the AI-generated image, saying, “I’m sure many of you saw that picture showing me as an alhaji.”

Shifting his focus to broader global concerns, Adeboye called for prayers for peace, urging vigilance to prevent the outbreak of another world war.

He also addressed the rising presence of mockers, prophesying that many would not make it through the year, though he emphasized that God does not wish for the death of sinners.

In his sermon titled “The Glory Ahead,” Adeboye prophesied that 2025 would see an unprecedentedly large earthquake. He assured the congregation that despite current challenges, the future would be brighter, as God’s purpose for humanity on earth remains central. He stressed that God isn’t rushing to take people to heaven because He still needs them to fulfill His divine mission here on earth.
