Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared an incident highlighting divine response to inquiries regarding tithes from certain affluent individuals within the church.

Recounting the event to his congregation, Pastor Adeboye revealed that four affluent members had approached him seeking transparency regarding the utilization of their tithes within the ministry. As per his narration, God subsequently intervened, causing a downturn in the fortunes of the branch associated with these individuals, leading to business setbacks and contract cancellations for many.

In response to the demand for transparency, Pastor Adeboye agreed to maintain meticulous records of the tithe expenditure, accessible to the members during church gatherings. However, he declined to directly provide them, citing the sanctity of divine judgment and accountability.

Furthermore, he instructed the treasurer to segregate the tithes from these individuals and keep them separately to test whether the church could thrive without their contributions. Over two years, the tithes were stored separately.

The situation took a turn when a representative sent to the affected branch reported grievances among the members, attributing their hardships to potential offenses against Pastor Adeboye. However, the pastor clarified that he harbored no ill will, seeking only to witness the extent of divine mercy. Ultimately, reconciliation ensued, although some individuals faced consequences for their actions, leading to their departure from the church.

This incident serves as a testament to Pastor Adeboye’s belief in divine justice and accountability, as well as a cautionary tale about the consequences of questioning divine ordinances.
