He assured that appropriate actions will be taken based on the panel’s findings, emphasizing that the church does not tolerate any behavior that falls short of its moral standards. The investigation’s outcome will guide the next steps.

“The reason for the suspension is to encourage anyone who may have been molested or harassed to come forward and testify against the pastors. To my knowledge, no one has come forward yet as a victim,” he said. “This is the first time such an allegation has arisen within the church. We will investigate thoroughly and determine how to address the situation. We do not condone such behavior.”

The controversy began when the news blog Gistlovers accused two youth pastors of allegedly luring teenage boys into homosexuality and negatively influencing the teenagers under their mentorship. A 20-year-old boy, who requested anonymity, claimed that the youth pastors had “influenced many into being gay.”

One of the accused pastors denied the allegations, stating, “I have never demanded sex from any male in exchange for assistance, platforms, or positions. God is the ultimate authority who appoints leaders.” Regarding alleged conversations with an alleged victim, he explained that discussions in a WhatsApp group focused on male reproductive health and self-esteem.
