PDP Crisis: “You Can’t Suspend Breeze; Damagum Belly Is His God” – Dino MelayeFormer Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has responded to his suspension by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Melaye was suspended for alleged anti-party activities, misconduct, and failure to attend a summons. Reacting on his X account, Melaye said, “You can’t suspend breeze. Damagum is the source of PDP’s problems. His belly is his God.”

PDP Chairman Umar Iliya Damagum has since claimed that Melaye is part of the issues affecting the party. Damagum pointed to Melaye’s behavior during the recent Kogi gubernatorial election as evidence of his lack of loyalty.

In an interview with Daily Trust, Damagum addressed Melaye’s comments about the PDP being a “once upon a time party,” and criticized Melaye for not voting in his own gubernatorial election.

Damagum remarked, “Melaye is part of the problem. He didn’t even vote for himself in his own election. If the party gives you its platform, you have a responsibility to improve its fortunes. You may win or lose, but if you lose, do so credibly.”
