This clarification comes in response to a post by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. On Tuesday, Olayinka shared a document on his handle claiming that Senator Samuel Anyanwu signed the form.

In a statement issued the same day, Ologunagba dismissed the claims and the related media reports as entirely false and misleading.

He explained that the nomination form for the PDP candidate, Jude Ezenwafor, was properly signed by the party’s Acting National Chairman, Amb. Iliya Damagum, and the Acting National Secretary, Arch. Setonji Koshoedo, in a letter dated May 7, 2025, with reference number PDP/DOM/GF.2/VOL.1J/25-065.

Ologunagba further referenced a prior letter dated May 5, 2025 (Ref No: PDP/DOM/GF.2/VOL.IF/25-061), which conveyed the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) from its 600th meeting. That resolution directed the Deputy National Secretary to act as the National Secretary, in accordance with Section 36 (2) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).

He emphasized that Section 36 (2) authorizes the Deputy National Secretary to serve in the capacity of National Secretary when officially instructed.

Additionally, the PDP spokesman noted that the date and timestamp on the INEC nomination portal confirm that the Commission accepted the documents co-signed by Damagum and Koshoedo.

Ologunagba urged PDP members, media outlets, and the public to disregard the misleading reports and the fake letter circulating on social media.
