PDP Governor Pleads: ‘If Tinubu Fails, I Fail—Support Him For My Success
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on the people of the state to lend their support to the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at an event hosted by the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) in the state, Oborevwori, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized the importance of backing Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting that the success of his own administration is closely tied to the President’s success.
Oborevwori remarked, “As an Urhobo man and the Governor of Delta State, I’m appealing to you today. Regardless of your views, I must say it here that President Tinubu is supporting this administration. Just as God has made him the President, He has also made me the Governor. So, as you support me, I ask you to support him, because if he fails, I fail. But he will not fail, and I will not fail.”
He also pointed out that Tinubu has appointed sons and daughters from the region to key positions, and called for continued support to ensure mutual success.
This statement follows Oborevwori’s recent criticism of former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, who had praised President Tinubu’s economic policies. Omo-Agege, speaking at an APC event, claimed that Tinubu’s policies have led to increased federal allocations, economic growth, and rising incomes for farmers in Delta State. However, Omo-Agege also criticized the lack of visible progress and development in the state, accusing Oborevwori of mismanaging state funds.
