PDP Rift: Wike Declares No Governor Born Of Woman’ Can Dismiss Him As Outsider

Former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has firmly stated that no governor within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can describe him as an outsider.

In a recent interview on Channels Television, Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), emphasized that anyone “born of a woman” cannot claim he is an outsider in the party. He addressed accusations that he might be a mole with allegiances to the All Progressives Congress (APC), clarifying that he had informed PDP leadership of his appointment prior to accepting it.

“There is no governor today in the PDP, no one born of a woman, who can say I’m an outsider in the PDP. Who?” Wike asserted. “Before I accepted the appointment, I communicated with the PDP leadership.”

Earlier, Wike had warned during the PDP congress in Rivers State that he would retaliate against any PDP governors who meddled in Rivers State’s political issues. He threatened, “Be prepared because I have the capacity to do the same in your state. Whether you’re from Bauchi or any other state, if you try to interfere in Rivers State, you will get burned and will not sleep peacefully in your state.”

This stance comes amidst ongoing tensions within the PDP regarding Wike’s role and his recent political moves.
