The party’s National Secretary, Sunday Ude-Okoye, announced the change in a statement dated March 8, 2025.

According to the statement, the NEC meeting, initially set for Wednesday, March 13, has now been moved to Thursday, March 14.

Ude-Okoye explained that the postponement followed consultations between the National Working Committee (NWC) and other party organs.

The statement read: “Distinguished members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) may recall that after extensive deliberations among party leaders, stakeholders, and relevant organs, the NEC meeting was originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 13, 2025.

“However, due to emerging issues, including the need to finalize ongoing Zonal, State, Local Government, and Ward Congresses, as well as to allow for broader consultations to ensure a seamless meeting, the NWC, after discussions with the Board of Trustees (BoT), the PDP Governors’ Forum, and the PDP National Assembly Caucus, has decided to shift the 99th NEC meeting to Thursday, May 15, 2025.

“All NEC members are advised to take note of the new date and adjust their schedules accordingly.

“The NWC sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this adjustment may cause to distinguished NEC members.
