Peju Ogunmola’s Family Exposes Real Cause Behind Son’s Untimely Death

The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has finally spoken out regarding the death of her only son, Ayomikun.

The Yoruba movie industry had been plunged into mourning over reports claiming that Ayomikun passed away in the UK following a bathroom accident.

However, in a statement released on Friday through the family spokesperson, Yemi Amodu, the claims were firmly debunked. The family clarified that Ayomikun died after a brief illness in Ibadan, Nigeria, and has since been laid to rest.

The statement read in part:

*”It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle (son of Sunday & Peju Ogunmola Omobolanle), a precious child whose light touched many lives. His departure is a deep loss to our family and all who knew him.

We wish to make it clear that Sola did not die as a result of a bathroom accident, contrary to false reports circulating online. He was briefly unwell and received first-class medical care. Despite the best efforts of his doctors, he peacefully answered the call of his Creator at a hospital in Ibadan and has since been laid to rest at Eternal Rest Home.

We urge the public to disregard the unfounded claims spread by some bloggers. These misleading stories dishonour his memory and cause unnecessary pain to his loved ones.

During this period of grief, we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from family, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers, which has been a source of comfort and strength.

We pray that no other family experiences such a loss. May the Almighty grant Sola eternal rest and give us the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”*
