Peter Obi Breaks Silence: Why I’m Throwing My Weight Behind George Moghalu For Anambra Governorship

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially endorsed George Moghalu for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election.

In a statement on Tuesday, Obi explained that his support stems from Moghalu’s manifesto, which prioritizes human development as the core of governance. He emphasized that the Labour Party candidate is dedicated to implementing policies that directly uplift the lives of citizens.

Obi hailed Moghalu as a competent leader with proven values of integrity, compassion, and vision, noting that he is capable of driving meaningful progress and shaping a brighter, more dignified future for the people of Anambra.

“Over the weekend, I joined George Moghalu, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, at a town hall meeting in Nimo, Anambra Central Senatorial Zone. Together with the Obidient family, I fully support him because his campaign manifesto places human development at the heart of governance. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the Anambra governorship election for Saturday, November 8, 2025.
