Peter Obi Can’t Win 2027 With Same 2023 Talk – Senator Olujimi Drops Bombshell

Former Ekiti Deputy Governor, Senator Biodun Olujimi, has dismissed Peter Obi’s chances in the 2027 presidential election, asserting that his eloquence — a major factor in his 2023 campaign — won’t be enough to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

In a recent interview with Channels Television, Olujimi, who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), argued that Obi would need more than passionate rhetoric to pose a serious threat.

“The tactics used in the last election won’t fly this time, unless he comes up with a new strategy. President Tinubu is a seasoned politician who understands the terrain,” she said.

Olujimi, also a former Senate Minority Leader, emphasized Tinubu’s deep political roots, describing him as a formidable opponent.

“This is the first time Nigeria has a true, career politician as president. He knows his way around, knows virtually everyone, and has played key roles in supporting various administrations. Defeating him in 2027? That would be a steep mountain to climb.”

Commenting on her defection from the PDP, Olujimi said her decision to join the APC was driven by the party’s new direction under Tinubu’s leadership.

“The APC of the past — the one we used to criticize — is not the same party today. The current leadership is pragmatic and determined. This government is taking bold steps and standing by its decisions instead of backing down at the first sign of public outcry.”

“It was this renewed sense of purpose that convinced me to join the APC — not any pressure or political promise,” she added.
