Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria over recent developments in the country.

During an interview on Arise TV, Obi stated that the EFCC is neglecting significant issues like elite corruption and economic sabotage, focusing instead on arresting Bobrisky for minor offenses like spraying a small amount of money. He remarked that given Nigeria’s current situation, if Nigerians were told that only women would be fed, men would resort to dressing as women.

Obi also criticized the Central Bank of Nigeria for mishandling the Heritage Bank situation, resulting in the entrapment of deposits belonging to poor people at a critical time. He suggested that some elites managed to withdraw their money before the bank’s license was withdrawn by the CBN, attributing Heritage Bank’s downfall to the actions of the country’s elites.
