Peter Obi Storms Ibadan: Reveals Real Reason Behind Visit To Olubadan-Designate, Ladoja

The 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, paid a courtesy visit to the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Speaking during the Sunday visit, Obi said his mission was to personally congratulate Ladoja on his emergence as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

He stated:

“My visit is to congratulate him as the next Olubadan of Ibadanland. But beyond that, it is also about Nigeria, about selfless and transformative leadership. I believe Ladoja will bring his wealth of experience to bear in this new role.”

In his response, Oba Ladoja described his ascension to the throne as an opportunity to serve rather than a position of glamour.

He said:

“Many people mistakenly see the throne as a seat of glamour. But those days are gone. In today’s world, it is about service and what you can offer to society.”

Meanwhile, Ladoja pledged to return to the classroom after his coronation, promising to teach Mathematics and Physics at his alma mater, Ibadan Boys’ High School.

The Olubadan-designate, who previously worked as a teacher at the school before venturing into politics, made the vow on Monday when the school’s principal, Rasheed Fasasi, led a delegation of its management team to his residence.

“Beyond being an alumnus, I also taught here in the past. After my coronation, I will return to the classroom to engage the students in Mathematics and Physics lessons,” Ladoja affirmed.
