The syndicate’s attempt to rob Abubakar Mohammed of his phone and valuables was thwarted by an enraged mob, leading to the intervention of the Eagle Eye Patrol Unit. Swiftly responding to the tip-off, the unit rescued and detained the suspects at the scene. The arrested individuals have been identified as Yazid Ukasha, a 23-year-old resident of Nasarawa Gwong, and Adamu Yahaya Garba, a 22-year-old resident of Layin Dan Maraya, Bauchi Road.
Preliminary investigations have confirmed that the apprehended individuals are members of a One-Chance syndicate responsible for robbing unsuspecting passengers of their valuables within the Jos metropolis.
Among the items recovered from the suspects is a tricycle with PT No. PTA-861 and Reg No. WAS-371 WL. The police are actively pursuing additional members of the syndicate to bring them to justice.
DSP Alfred Alabo emphasized the commitment of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Hassan S. Yabanet, FCID, to eliminating criminal elements within the state. He reassured Plateau residents of the police force’s dedication to ensuring their safety, urging them to conduct their lawful activities without fear. The police continue to work diligently to maintain the security of the state and apprehend those engaged in criminal activities.
