Plateau Communities Rally For Relief Amid Herdsmen Threats
Residents of Kuka and Kwalla in Plateau State’s Shendam and Quan-Pan LGAs have urged President Bola Tinubu to address recurring herdsmen attacks and a nine-year power outage that has severely affected their communities. The communities presented their concerns to Mrs. Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North Central), during her visit to Shendam. Essiet reported that the prolonged power outage has crippled local economies, education, and healthcare, while the frequent clashes between farmers and herdsmen have heightened insecurity.
Essiet affirmed that she is actively advocating for these issues with relevant authorities, emphasizing that addressing them will improve safety and rebuild public trust.
