The incident, which took place on Sunday night, reportedly resulted in multiple deaths and left several others injured, plunging the community into grief.
In a statement released on Monday, Kalu expressed deep sympathy to the affected families and the Plateau State Government, while also praying for the swift recovery of those injured.
Denouncing the recurring violence, he emphasized the urgent need for decisive measures to protect lives and property.
“The sanctity of human life must always be respected,” he stated, while calling on authorities to strengthen efforts to prevent further attacks.
Kalu assured that security agencies are working to identify and apprehend those behind the assault and bring them to justice.
He also appealed to residents to remain calm and support security operatives by sharing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations.
The lawmaker further advocated for improved security systems in vulnerable areas and stressed the need for collective responsibility in tackling insecurity.
