This is part of the overall promotion of 5,718 senior police officers, encompassing both general duty and specialist cadres within the Force.

Among the 12 Commissioners of Police elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General of Police are:

1. CP Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji, formerly CP of Niger State
2. CP Patrick Ogon Edung, previously CP of Courses at the Police Academy Wudil, Kano
3. CP Badru Banji Lawal, who served as Deputy Commandant at the Police Academy Kano
4. CP Bartholomew Nnamdi Onyeka, formerly CP of Benue State
5. CP Suleiman Yusuf, previously CP of Taraba State
6. CP Idowu Owohunwa, previously CP of Lagos State
7. CP Rhoda Adetutu Olofu, previously CP of PAP Western Ports Lagos
8. CP Godwin Aghaulor, who was Commandant at the Police College Kaduna
9. CP Effiom Emmanuel Ekot, previously CP of Jigawa State
10. CP Stanley Kanayo-Chukwu Ude, who served as CP of Intelligence and Investigation at Interpol Abuja
11. CP Longe Kehinde Patrick, previously CP of Osun State
12. CP Ndu Anene, who was CP of Admin Research and Planning at Force headquarters.
