The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), FCT Command, has apprehended two individuals, Gabriel David Elihu, a discharged soldier residing in Apo Mechanic Village, and Alex Iorjaa from Gboko L.G.A of Benue State, on charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in Abuja.

The disclosure was made by FCT Police Commissioner, CP Ben Igweh, during a press briefing held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

CP Igweh revealed that the arrests occurred on March 17 following a distress call received around 02:30 pm via the Mabushi Division from two victims, Blessing Mafulul Damia and Haliru Zakari. The victims reported being trailed by assailants in an unregistered Toyota Hilux while returning home from a medical store in Gwarimpa to Gishiri village. The perpetrators robbed them of their belongings and attempted to abduct them.

Acting swiftly upon receiving the distress call, police operatives from the Division initiated a pursuit, leading to the apprehension of the suspects, Elihu and Iorjaa. Subsequent searches resulted in the recovery of a black Toyota Hilux with registration number NBB 03 AH (Nasarawa), a jackknife, and various military paraphernalia.
