Dalijan revealed this during a meeting with Thomas Parker, head of the Counterterrorism Unit at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, held at the command headquarters in Gusau, the state capital.

Although the commissioner withheld the identities of the arrested individuals, he urged the UN to assist in establishing a forensic laboratory in Zamfara, akin to what was done in Maiduguri, to streamline forensic analysis processes. Dalijan also sought UN support in training and setting up forensic laboratories to expedite the investigation and prosecution of suspected criminals.

He highlighted a reduction in crime rates, attributing it to the collaborative efforts of security agencies and Community Protection Guards in driving out suspected terrorists who relocated from Maiduguri to Zamfara.

Parker affirmed the UN’s commitment to assessing the security situation in Zamfara to better comprehend the underlying causes and challenges, aiming to provide effective assistance in addressing the threats.
