Police Grill El-Rufai, ADC Leaders Over Alleged Criminal Conspiracy

The Kaduna State Police Command has invited former governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and several leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for questioning over allegations of criminal conspiracy, incitement of public disturbance, mischief, and inflicting grievous harm.

According to an invitation letter dated September 4, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Uzainu Abdullahi, the ADC Kaduna State Chairman was directed to produce El-Rufai along with seven other party members at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on September 8, 2025.

The letter, titled “Investigation Activities: Case of Criminal Conspiracy, Inciting Disturbance of Public Peace, Mischief, and Causing Grievous Hurt,” stated that the individuals were required to address allegations made against them by certain complainants.

Although the specific complaints were not disclosed, police authorities emphasized that the invitation was part of ongoing investigative efforts to safeguard public peace and order in the state.

The letter listed those expected to appear as: Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Bashir Sa’idu, Jafaru Sani, Ubaidullah Mohammed (aka 30), Nasiru Maikano, Aminu Abita, and Ahmed Rufa’i Hussaini (aka Mikiya).
