The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered a formal investigation into multiple sexual misconduct allegations against Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The move comes amid widespread public outrage and viral social media posts, including claims from Nollywood actress Doris Ogala. Lagos Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi told Punch on Sunday that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, has been directed to handle the case.

“The CP has instructed SCID to invite the pastor for questioning, even though no formal complaints have yet been filed,” Adebisi said, adding that alleged victims and witnesses would also be summoned to assist the investigation.

Pastor Okafor stepped aside from his ministerial duties on New Year’s Day as the allegations gained public attention. The controversy began after his December 16, 2025 wedding to his new bride, Pearl, which drew several prominent clerics.

Last Sunday, Okafor publicly apologized to Doris Ogala during a church service, admitting to “past mistakes” and seeking forgiveness while kneeling on the pulpit.

Ogala had sparked the scandal on December 14 with emotional Instagram videos, claiming a nine-year relationship with Okafor that started in 2017. She alleged that he promised marriage, shared explicit content, and contributed to her divorce and emotional distress.

She further claimed that the pastor offered her $10,000 to retract her statements and blame a rival cleric, later demanding N1 billion in damages due to threats and intimidation following her arrest.

As the scandal unfolded, additional women, including Okafor’s former wife, Bessem Okafor, came forward with allegations of infidelity, deceit, and physical abuse.

Despite the growing accusations, some church members defended Pastor Okafor, describing the claims as extortion attempts by disgruntled individuals targeting their spiritual leader.

Adebisi added that she had contacted a YouTuber who interviewed the alleged victims to help investigators connect with witnesses. “The CP has also ordered that all witnesses be brought forward to provide statements,” she said.

The police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to verify the allegations and urged all involved parties to cooperate fully.
