Portable On The Run: Police Hunt Singer Over Alleged Assault On Babymama Ashabi Simple

The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, during Ashabi’s visit to Portable’s bar in Ogun State. A video circulating online captured the tense encounter between them.

Ashabi, who has often been referred to publicly as one of Portable’s baby mamas, expressed frustration over the label, insisting she should also be recognized as a wife. Portable, however, maintained that his legally married wife, Bewaji, is his only spouse, and all other women in his life remain baby mamas.

The disagreement reportedly escalated into a heated altercation, with Portable accused of pushing and assaulting Ashabi. The matter intensified when Ashabi and her siblings reported the incident to the police, alleging assault and threats.

Ashabi later shared her version of events on social media, explaining that she had gone to the bar at Portable’s invitation, but a disagreement broke out. She claimed that he seized their phones and threatened them during the confrontation.

Police reportedly visited Portable’s residence to effect his arrest, but he had left before their arrival, leaving his pregnant wife at home.

“I celebrated the new year happily with my family. You were the one who said you were in a bad mood and asked me to bring New Year food for you, which I agreed to. When I got to your bar, you asked me to meet you outside. That’s when a minor disagreement turned into you slapping me, hitting me, taking our phones, and threatening my siblings and me with an axe,” she alleged in an Instagram video.
