Police Raid Yields Major Haul As 11 Suspects Arrested With Guns, Cars And 25 ATM Cards

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 11 suspects and recovered two suspected stolen vehicles, three firearms and 25 Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards during a series of operations conducted across the state.

According to Bush Radio Academy, the arrests and recoveries were recorded between September 16 and September 26 as police operatives carried out intelligence-led operations, targeted raids and other enforcement activities aimed at tackling criminal activities.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said detectives attached to the Owode-Egba Division recovered a stolen commercial TVS motorcycle at Mokoloki Village on September 17 and arrested two suspects allegedly connected to the incident.

He added that operatives in Ijebu-Ode recovered a Safira vehicle suspected to have been stolen following discreet investigations and intelligence gathering. One suspect was arrested in connection with the recovery.

Babaseyi further disclosed that operatives of the Olorunda Division arrested two suspects on September 19 while they were allegedly transporting stolen electrical materials along Ayetoro Road.

According to the police spokesperson, operatives of the State Police Special Weapons and Tactics team arrested three suspects around Dalemo in Ota on September 21 after intercepting an unregistered tricycle and motorcycle allegedly linked to vehicle theft.

The command also reported the arrest of two suspected cult members during a separate tactical operation. One pump-action rifle and two locally made pistols were recovered during the operation, bringing the total number of firearms recovered during the period to three.

Babaseyi also disclosed that operatives of the Igbesa Division arrested a 45-year-old man over an alleged ₦2.5 million fraud.

According to him, 25 ATM cards and several mobile phones were recovered from the suspect during the operation.

The police spokesperson said the arrests and recoveries were part of the command’s ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal activities and improve security across Ogun State.

The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers involved in the operations for what he described as their professionalism and urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to law enforcement authorities.

Ojajuni assured residents that the command would continue to strengthen proactive policing measures aimed at maintaining peace and security across the state.
