According to Sahara Reporters, this move is part of a calculated strategy to enable the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions (SCEPPP) to officially clear him while dealing a significant blow to embattled Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Sources reveal that both Akpabio and Natasha are set to appear before the committee in the coming days, a move designed to create the impression that the Senate President is undergoing due process.
The committee, led by Senator Neda Imasuen, is expected to clear Akpabio of all allegations while recommending Natasha’s indefinite suspension for the remainder of her tenure.
Additionally, public remarks by Senator Ireti Kingibe and Senator Onyekachi Nweboyin’s recent Channels TV interview are said to be part of a larger coordinated effort to execute the suspension plan.
“The plan in motion is to suspend Senator Natasha until the end of her tenure in 2027. The panel’s report is already being drafted, and the investigation is merely a formality,” a source disclosed.
It was further alleged that Akpabio will briefly step down, face the panel for questioning, and be swiftly declared innocent, while Natasha will face indefinite suspension.
