A former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Jumoke Akinjide, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after over 20 years of membership.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Akinjide announced her decision in a resignation letter dated Monday, March 30, 2026, stating that it takes immediate effect.

Having joined the PDP in 2001, she explained that her decision came after careful and prolonged personal reflection.

In her letter, the former minister expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunities it provided throughout her political journey.

She acknowledged that leaving the PDP was a difficult choice due to her long-standing relationship with the party.

Akinjide thanked the party for giving her a platform to serve and participate in governance, as well as for the experiences and relationships she built over the years.

She also extended her best wishes to the party for its future endeavours.

Jumoke Akinjide previously served as Minister of State for the FCT during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
