Seven aides to Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi have resigned from their positions as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The officials reportedly submitted their resignation letters in line with provisions of the Electoral Act, which requires public office holders seeking elective positions to step down within the stipulated timeframe.

In their separate letters, the former aides expressed appreciation to Governor Namadi for the opportunity to serve, describing their time in office as both an honour and a privilege.

Among those who resigned is the Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs and Partnership, Aliyu Hussaini Usman, who is planning to contest a seat in the House of Representatives for the Hadejia, Auyo, and Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency.

Others include the Special Adviser on Youth Mobilisation, Sale Ahmed Birniwa; Special Adviser on Human Resources, Hassan Aliyu Musa; and Special Assistant on MSMEs and Financial Inclusion, Malam Mansur Shehu.

Also on the list are the Senior Special Assistant on Education Monitoring in Ringim Emirate, Hamza Abdullahi, and Special Adviser on Tsangaya II, Mohammed T. Mohammed.

In a related development, the Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs, Yusuf Tanko Sununu, has also resigned from the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sununu stepped down on Monday to pursue a senatorial seat in Kebbi State.

Before his appointment to the Federal Executive Council, he represented the Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Confirming his resignation, Sununu said he acted in accordance with the country’s regulations governing political office holders seeking elective positions.

When asked via message if he had resigned, he responded in the affirmative.

Sununu had previously served as Minister of State for Education before being reassigned to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
