Political Earthquake In Anambra! Ex-Labour Party Aspirant Joins ADC, Grabs Governorship Ticket

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially chosen John Chuma Nwosu as its gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8.

Nwosu, previously a governorship aspirant under the Labour Party (LP), had pulled out of the LP primaries, citing widespread irregularities and a deepening leadership crisis within the party.

Despite his withdrawal, George Moghalu was later declared the winner of the LP primary and emerged as the party’s official candidate.

However, in a new political twist, Nwosu was declared the winner of the ADC primary held on Friday in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

In his post-election remarks, Nwosu reiterated his unwavering commitment to ushering in a new era of visionary leadership in Anambra.

“Today marks a significant turning point in our collective mission to rescue Anambra. With the support of ADC and its alliance partners, we aim to build a powerful coalition capable of unseating the current administration,” he declared.

He expressed appreciation to party stakeholders for placing their trust in him and emphasized the need for unified efforts moving forward.

“Yesterday, we were in a political party plagued by impunity, dishonesty, illegality, and a glaring lack of transparency.

“Today, we begin anew. My SHEEEMS political mission remains unchanged—only our platform has evolved, for the better.

“I’m honoured to join the broader ADC family. I appreciate the warm reception and understand the enormous task ahead. Now, let’s get to work,” he concluded.
