She argued that the acquisition of a new jet was unjustifiable given the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians. Ezekwesili also suggested that President Bola Tinubu, by endorsing the policies of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, shares responsibility for the current situation.
Ezekwesili remarked, “The new aircraft, which is 19 years old, is being justified despite widespread poverty and hunger. The government’s priorities, including the construction of expensive homes for the vice president and luxury vehicles for officials, are misplaced.”
She criticized the current administration for continuing Buhari’s economic policies, which she believes were ineffective. According to Ezekwesili, the political class is failing to address fundamental issues and is not prioritizing the needs of the citizens.
